Net Revenue Retention

Net revenue retention measures retained and expanded revenue from existing customers after churn and contraction.

Net revenue retention, or NRR, measures how much revenue a company keeps and expands from existing customers after churn, contraction, expansion, cross-sells, upsells, and price increases.

Formula

NRR = (Starting revenue - Churn - Contraction + Expansion) / Starting revenue

NRR is central to SaaS growth quality because expansion can make acquisition spend more productive. Read the cluster page: SaaS net revenue retention benchmarks.
